Erth Chronicles: Mechat Skull

The Newtonian Mechats are mechanical steeds that help wipe out Rojin outposts.

Bringing down a huge beast like this is no easy task for the Rojin - so a prize spot on any outpost wall helps boost moral.

I used a technique I learn't from the David Levy DVD Rom, From Speedpainting to Concept Art, which I thoroughly recommend. It's a case of playing around with abstract form and customising dual brushes. I tend to keep brushing until I see potential in the shapes, then piece them all together. The final part is to refine it with a standard brush.
